Low Carb Apple Pie Recipe

Low carb apple pie is never going to be terrifically low carb as a lots of apples is needed for making apple pie.   The apple alone based on 4 cups per pie run up 7.1 grams of carbs per 1 piece of pie.  But if you crave a piece of apple pie now and then this recipe won't let you down.  Bake the low carb apple pie with the atkins pie crust  recipe and enjoy a piece of your favorite pie.

Ingredient For Low Carb Apple Pie (8 servings)

1 prebake pie crust

 

Sprinkle lemon juice over apples to prevent browning.  Lightly whisk the egg and eggs yolks together.  Combine the Splendar, flour, and spices.  Add mixture to the egg and whisk until dispersed.  Pour mixture over the apples to coat apples well.  Fill the pie sheet with mixture and dot with optional butter.

Tear off 2 pieces of aluminum foil each 12 by 13 inches.  Arrange the foil pieces crosswise and set the pie in the center.  Turn up the foil and shape it around the outer edge of the pie pan to cover the expose, fluted crust.  Bake the pie for 40 minutes or until apple are done.  Cool and serve the pie.  The pie will keep in fridge for several days.

1.7 gram protein
